text
This was a performance I did for the Nhebraska Noise Fest. The festival was an exploration of how the concept of noise prevalent in Jazz and Electronic music could be applied to other forms of artmaking. I was invited to contribute to the live art/theater section.
My solution to this challenge was to present a perfomance that interspersed at random intervals random "perfomances." Classic Shakespeare monologues; performance art monologues; reading aloud from a book; reading aloud my real actual e-mail; Listenning to music; wandering around, etc.
I was trying to make, both the content and the execution of the act of performance, each resemble being corrupted and actually be corrupted as I shifted between performative and non-performative selves.
